Do you have a favorite charity? Are you a supporter with your finances as well as your heart? There are so many worthwhile causes to catch our attention. Do you have any opportunities to meet needs? Which needs do you find gain your attention and your heart? Do you help to finance any organizations geared toward meeting people’s needs? Do you have any scriptures that you use to validate your belief that you SHOULD not MUST—help others?
Honey—-you nailed it. Everyone gives to something….thank you for teaching the children.
Ellie—the gift of life. Blood—it is serious devotion. THANK YOU!
Loving the sea as much as I do, and being cornish at heart, I always try to support RNLI Lifeboats as much as I can as well. My religion has no scriptures. I wish that I could help all charities but I can’t afford it References :
I try to support those I can. I am a preschool teacher at a private preschool…no money, so many supplies and extras do come out of my pocket. Also I give donations to food banks and participate in the local fire department fund raisers.
My efforts are not guided by scriptures and my efforts are not applied for the greater good of me! I do not ask for validation from anyone or from the Divine because it is not needed.
Sometimes the best charity you can offer someone in need is your time…listen and let people know that they are worth while.
I don’t have scriptures, but I don’t really need to be told that I should support causes that I feel are just or organizations that I feel are doing important work in the world.
I do walks and a 5K run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I contribute money to both public television and public radio, the American Cancer Society, the Wilderness Society, and Planned Parenthood.
I also contribute money to NOW, Amnesty International, ActionAid, NARAL, and the AAUW (American Association of University Women).
I also donate blood every 12 weeks.
Every one of those causes is important to me and I just wish I could give more. References :
Humane Society…the thrift shop and the pet center…the stray cats in the area that are left behind by their uncaring ignorant owners and these poor things find their way to my door.
we have 1 old cat that was a stray,(she is about 10 and not impressed with all these other creatures in her kingdom)
a half starved kitten most dead and pg that today is 8 lbs of attitude!
a 12 lb chicken kitty that someone really did some bad psychological damage to.she is such a love but so hurt and scared of things.
(I want to beat those people that did that to her!!)
have taken 3 others to the shelter plus bags of food.
have 2 stray toms that are in and out of late, still in the making friends stage; I am the momma kitty.
people leave the cat behind and that is just so terribly wrong!!
scripture…we are to care for the creatures of God.
God gave me this ability to talk and interact with cats since I was a kid. I meow in their language, each one has their own voice inflection and meaning; very handy when it is a territorial issue as I am momma kitty and can growl the loudest and that settles that. References :
my wife volunteers for the childrens society and helps to run play groups for young children in under privileged areas, i donate to cancer research uk and st gemma hospice who tend to take in and care for older patients who are often near death. References :

No, I don’t have any scripture, it is strange though that atheists give more to charities than believers do.
